Pete Shimer is the Deloitte US Chief Operating Officer, leading Finance & Administration, Information Technology, and Corporate Development, bridging strategy and operations to drive world-class operating results. In this role, he is responsible for evaluating major investments—including acquisitions, joint ventures, technology, and innovation—and driving strategic choices in the area of cost leadership across the organization. As COO, he has oversight of Finance & Administration, Information Technology, and Corporate Development. Mr. Shimer is the chair of Deloitte's US Operating Committee and a member of the US Executive Committee. From January through June 2023, Mr. Shimer served as the Interim Deloitte US Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Shimer has spent his entire career at Deloitte, starting as an auditor and serving in a number of leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer, Lead Client Service Partner for several Fortune 500 clients, and Managing Partner of Deloitte's Seattle office.

Mr. Shimer received a BA in Accounting from the University of Washington. He is a Board member for the University of Washington Foster School of Business and Co-Chair of the Board of Advisors for Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. He is also a Past Chair of the Board of Directors for the University of Washington Foundation.
